20+ years in technology — from racking physical servers to running AI complex solutions at scale.

I've spent more than 20 years specializing in technology. I started my career in an era when we racked our own physical servers by hand, installed the OS through kickstart scripts we'd written ourselves, and wired up networks we configured end to end — wrestling with every kind of network component along the way. All of that just to ship our programs, usually CGIs written in C or Perl, which we then had to harden ourselves by inspecting traffic at the packet level.

Everything that sounds distant now, or deprecated and irrelevant to a lot of people, is actually the foundation most cloud services run on today, and the same principles show up in containerization tools like Podman or Docker. The habits we built parsing logs, tracing packets with tcpdump, writing Perl one-liners and awk/grep pipelines — those are the same fundamentals behind rapid prototyping for data processing and analysis, the kind we now implement reliably in Kafka clusters.

That's why this space exists: as a repository of knowledge, both for people trying to understand the core concepts and for sharing some of what we've built, so it can serve as a reference or example of what technology makes possible when solving real problems.

This is a space to share how we see and build through our work — which, in the end, is what defines us.
